Shed End Bikes

Shed End Bikes are really well located for people who want to hire a bike for a mountain biking trip on the South Downs.

Based in West Dean, at the north end of the Centurion Way cycle route, which runs along the old Chichester to Midhurst Railway line, Shed End hire bikes for 2 hours or 4 hours at a time, or for longer periods if required. Cycle helmet hire and bike lock hire is also available.

The Shed End web site contains some maps with suggested cycle routes around the Lavant Valley and around the South Downs, including a decent suggested pub route.

Southwater Cycles

Bicycle hire near Horsham

Southwater Cycles have a range of bicycles for adults and kids - bikes can be rented for periods from 2 hours to a week. You can even hire a tandem if you like. Group cycle bookings can also be made, but obviously you'll need to book in advance for this.

Southwater Cycles is handy for the Downs Link long distance cycle path which connects the South Downs Way to the North Downs Way in Surrey.

Deers Leap is a dedicated mountain bike park near East Grinstead. You can bring your own bike or hire a bike for a session, a half day or a full day.
