Our local business directory contains information about local businesses hand picked and described by us.We generally try to suggest local companies which look a bit unusual in what they offer their customers. Usually these businesses are smaller West Sussex companies rather than national chains.
As High Street shopping gets more and more homogenous, we're keen to champion the little guy (or gal) - it's the only way of keeping variety in our local shops. Many of the smaller towns in West Sussex have some really fabulous small shops which are tucked away in hard to find places.
And the rural areas of West Sussex are full of small businesses offering important and unusual specialist services too.
We look out for businesses like these and try to include them in our business directory where we can. The British are famously a "nation of shopkeepers" and so our shopping culture is a part of our wider culture too and deserves to be celebrated.
