West Sussex Agricultural Shows
Farm animals, country crafts and other countryside attractionsUndoubtedly one of the premier agricultural shows in England, attracting almost 100,000 visitors from far and wide each June.
As well as displays of the highest standard of farm animals and country crafts, the South of England Agricultural Show includes good quality equestrian events, flower displays and unusual and interesting foods produced in the Southern England.
The South of England Agricultural Society has a huge showground at Ardingly. SEAS also organises other smaller agricultural talks and events during the course of the year as well as its Spring Garden & Leisure Show and Festive Food & Drink Fayre. Details of these events can be found on the Society website.
Farming practices, heavy horses and agricultural equipmentWhile strictly speaking in East Sussex, the Heathfield Agricultural Show draws many folk from all over Sussex. Some of the attractions and events connected with the show are traditional - and some are more modern, like motorbike displays.
More predictable and very popular parts of the Heathfield Show are displays of tractors and agricultural equipment, heavy horses and the Shetland Pony Grand National.
In 2009 the show is scheduled for 29th May. The show takes place at Little Tottingworth Farm, Broad Oak, Heathfield, East Sussex and is organised by the Heathfield and District Agricultural Society.
