Southwater
Southwater is a rapidly growing large village of over 9,000 people south of Horsham. The village centre is now very attractive after a modernisation programme which has given it the feel of a small 21st century town.
Southwater Country Park is the real jewel in the village. Based around the former brickworks, which produced hundreds of millions of bricks for London's sewers in the first part of the twentieth century - Southwater Country Park has 70 acres of attractive water and landscape which is enjoyed by both man and wildlife.
You can fish, sail, canoe, cycle and walk in the park. There's even an orienteering course. And the Downs Link Cycle Path sweeps through Southwater following the route of the old railway line.
Wildlife at Southwater benefits from habitats such as reedlands, coppices and mature woodland. It's all very nice.
